Why A Collective Hope?
I'm such a "hustle in private" type of person but I can't even begin to explain just how excited I am to introduce you to a place all my own- a space to share my work, ideas and thoughts. Growing up, writing always played a big part of my life and from what teachers told me, I was good at it and became something I not only loved but strived to get better at. That's right, I was that nerd that read the dictionary in attempts to learn new words and how to use them in sentences and be able to apply them to my writing. For some reason it has been so much easier for me to get my thoughts out in writing than in conversation...talk about being awkward, but more on that later!
Now, like writing, art has always been apart of my life since I was a young child and I'm so grateful to my mom for that. While college has put my personal work on the back burner, both writing and photography, it is certainly still something I thoroughly enjoy. Now stay with me guys, I promise, I have a point to this.
Anyways, let's back track to high school when I decided I wanted to do fashion photography and write freelance for fashion magazines... thank you America's next Top Model and Carrie from Sex and the City for inspiring me to dream big! While the dream still remains it certainly has altered as I grew into a young adult, and a part of that was the dream to write for myself and start a blog!
Back in 2015 I decided I wanted to start my own blog but anyone who knows me knows making decisions can be somewhat difficult and choosing the perfect blog name was no different. I knew I wanted to write about a variety of topics, from style, to personal topics and how could I forget DIY and home decor! I took to Facebook to seek help and bounce ideas off other people and the help came from a friend whom I made during a short time of living in San Antonio, where I had no friends (Thank you Tim!). He was my trainer at the time and one of the best people I had ever met. From there the title of, not only my blog, but my brand, "A Collective Hope" was born. It is a name that encompasses who I am, what I'm passionate about and embodies it into a sweet little corner of the world wide web.
So without further ado, welcome to the start of something new!
